On-going Research
Projects and
Research Ideas for Next Grant
On going research- 1) Study of help-seeking by
older husbands caring for wives with dementia. 2). Study of decisions
by elders to enter assisted living facilities. Both are grounded
theory studies.
3) Study of wives caring for husbands with dementia and a study of elders volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
Research ideas for future: 1) Study of decisions
by children to care for parents with dementia.- Grounded theory.
2)Study of Elders helping others through participation in Habitat
for Humanity builds- ethnographic study.
3)Study of children caring for parents and also study of family caregivers from other cultures (Chinese, African American & Hispanic) and from other geographic areas.
