Biography
Aloycha de La Roche is an advanced practice nurse,
certified in both gerontology and mental health. She has worked
with older adults for eleven years and recently embarked on the
journey as an independent mental health practitioner, in association
with a well respected local psychiatrist. She has worked with
the VA in our nation’s capital, served as a nursing home
director of nursing, developed programs and services for the older
adult community, and is an advocate for patient-centered care
across the continuum of healthcare. Her research interests include
long term care, adult care best practices, and wellness promotion.
Aloycha has five children, including a nurse
anesthetist, two registered nurses, a healthcare reimbursement
specialist, and an electrical engineer. She has ten grandchildren
who are the light of her life. She is a world traveler, and has
lived in Europe, Asia, and in several states. She is an avid reader
and writes poetry. She lives in a refurbished, 78 year old school
house and frequently gives impromptu tours to past students who,
in turn, share stories of the building from their schooldays.
